Support for statistical software

Support for JMP

The statistics package JMP is available free of charge to all students and staff of FU through the "Student Edition". Under this license, the software may be installed on personal computers.

Support for Python

Python is one of the most well-known and widely used programming languages and offers a wide range of possibilities for statistical applications. In addition, Python is freely available to everyone.

Support for R

fu:stat offers courses for R and also support for the use of R. These useful links and online tutorials helps to get started with R.

Support for SAS

SAS (Statistical Analysis System) can be used free of charge by all members of FU through the University Edition. In addition, the software may also be used on personal computers.

Support for SPSS/PSPP

SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is a software program for statistical data analysis that must be purchased. There is no free access for members of FU.
A free and compatible alternative to SPSS is the statistical program PSPP. However, it should be noted that PSPP has a more limited range of functions compared to SPSS.

Support for Stata

Stata is available free of charge to members of FU through a campus license for Stata SE and may be used on personal computers.

Statistics and Geospatial Data Analysis - SOGA

The e-learning project Statistics and Geodata Analysis (SOGA) is all about processing and understanding data, with a special focus on geodata. The e-learning project SOGA was developed at the Department of Geosciences by Dr. Kai Hartmann (concept and content) and Dr. Joachim Krois (technical implementation and content).
